The constant evolution of video games through the years

I love to write and I recently started a blog that showcases my love for gaming. It’s fun and easy going. Aimed at catching the attention of gamers alike. In the late 20th century, the concept of gaming evolved as researchers developed games for leisure times, including tic-tac-toe.
The evolution of gaming has been interesting with the advent of arcade style gaming to home based consoles and then back to cloud computing. The gaming scenario changed in a short span of time from coin operated arcade gaming to fast paced, online game style of today.
Through the decades, if taken a closer look, the gaming scenario initially was arcade style, the games duration was short and the activity of gaming itself was based on social interactions and connectivity with mostly ping pong based variants of video games. Then came along the ever famous Nintendo, giving the bored arcade visitors a chance to play better styled games, with the chance to re-play these games at leisure with one time investment at home (console games) till perfection was achieved. Notable games of this period include Tetris, space boy etc. Many gamers and experts term this era as monumental in the development of gaming for the future generations.

With the passage of time, console based gaming gave way to desktop computers in the early 1990s. With the introduction of 3D graphics, the gaming scenario changed with more speed and real time gaming experience as opposed to arcades. The introduction of joysticks and other gadgets to aid gaming further improved the user experience.
Amidst the transition of gaming from console system to personal computers, “game boy” emerged and remained dominant foe quite some time. This handheld game console included tetris, the record selling video game, could be played anywhere with the disadvantages of being operated on battery power, running out occasionally. Many variants were then introduced with game boy pocket and game boy advance etc.

PC gaming remained popular in the late 90s, with many famous games such as Age of Empires and the War craft etc. During this time, the console based gaming reentered the market with better adapted technology, called the fifth generation or 64-bit consoles. Quite a few companies entered the race with Sony PlayStation finally gaining the support of the masses. The era is notable for the introduction of CDs in gaming, which out sold the use of cartridges in the gaming industry.
Then came the age of mobile phones with their monochrome screens of limited size, but gave the convenience of being played everywhere. The most notable game was Nokia snake.
With the advent of 21st century, online gaming began with counter strike as the most famous game. The sixth generation consoles entered the market with Sony as the leading brand, with DVDs as replacements for CDs, higher storage capacities and multi-player options and most importantly adapters for internet. During this time, Microsoft also entered the market with Xbox which provided further gaming options to serious gamers. With the availability of affordable and better broadband internet, online gaming became more popular with different companies offering their own online platforms.

There have been constant developments in the gaming scenario, with development of seventh and eighth generation consoles, where focus has been on portability; connectivity and adaptability. Mobile games have been launched with the introduction of better software and the play stores and App store of Google and Apple respectively.
Nowadays, gaming is a billion dollar industry with thousands of employees with multitude of fields ranging from software developers, market researches, and animators downright to story writers. Gamers, today, take the notion of gaming as a career rather a pastime with global tournaments being organized.
The activity once supposed as leisure activity has now become a serious industry where a person killing time on a bus station waiting for his ride and a person who chose gaming as a career are both equally involved. The gaming industry is still to grow more with better technology with each passing day.

  1. Wow! I'm digging in this website's templates/themes. Easy, but powerful. In most cases the "perfect balance" between usability and visual appearance is very difficult to achieve. 카지노사이트
